What Is ODOP Loan?

INtroduction

The scheme uses the One District One Product (ODOP) model to gain the benefits of scale in terms of input procurement, shared services, and product marketing. The scheme’s ODOP provides a framework for value chain development and supports infrastructure alignment. In one district, there may be more than one cluster of ODOP products. In a State, there may be a cluster of ODOP products consisting of more than one nearby district.

The states would pick the food product for a district while keeping in mind the scheme’s concentration on perishables and on the basis of baseline research conducted by the state government. The ODOP product might be a perishable agricultural product, cereal-based product, or food product that is commonly produced in a district and its related industries. Such things include mango, potato, litchi, tomato, tapioca, skinny, bhujia, petha, papad, pickle, millet-based goods, fishery, chicken, meat, and animal feed.. Furthermore, certain additional conventional and new items, such as waste-to-wealth products, maybe encouraged under the Scheme. Honey, for example, small forest products in tribal regions, traditional Indian herbal culinary goods such as turmeric, amla, Haldi, and so on. Agricultural produce would be supported in terms of processing, as well as measures to decrease waste, effective assaying, storage, and marketing.
