Preschool classrooms are frequently split into centres or sections based on different subjects and styles of play. A typical preschool classroom could have the following centres: reading, arts and crafts, a water/sand table, construction and math toys, and a pretend play space. The school day is organised to include both free playtime, during which children may pick which centres to play in and structured time dedicated to each topic.

Preschool is not all fun and games, despite appearances. Preschool, in fact, learn via play and games! Early reading and math skills development in preschool has been linked to subsequent school success in both mathematics and literacy, according to research. For all actors, the process of introducing a kid to an institution and leaving the child there for the first time may be delicate and emotionally taxing. To ease the transition between home and preschool, different routines are developed. In some nations, parents are not permitted to engage; in others, parents are required to participate in the transition in various ways, as well as in regular preschool routines. Ideas and discussions on how to make this shift a positive experience for all those involved have evolved throughout time. However, little is known about preschool instructors’ impressions of this collaboration, particularly the early creation of relationships between actors when a kid visits preschool for the first time.

The purpose of this essay is to look at Swedish preschool instructors’ opinions of the connection between family and institution when it comes to children’s first day of preschool.

The conversation focuses on how they and the parents operate together throughout the child’s transition, how they manage the transfer, and how they control the gap between home and preschool during the introduction phase. This article’s analysis is based on focus group discussions with preschool instructors.
